What does Trane E13 mean?

Blower does not match the personality module: the motor horsepower or OEM identification differs from the value programmed on the module.

Likely causes

  • Personality module model and serial number do not match the furnace nameplate
  • Blower motor horsepower does not match the nameplate

Safe checks for E13

  1. Leave the blower panel on until a technician compares the parts with the nameplate. The chart starts by disconnecting electrical power
  2. Technicianif the personality module model and serial do not match the nameplate, replace the module with the correct one. If the blower motor horsepower does not match the nameplate, replace the motor with the correct horsepower

Turn off electrical power at the furnace switch or breaker before opening any panel, and never bypass or jumper a limit, rollout or pressure switch.
