What does Samsung bE2 mean?
Jammed button error: a button on the control panel is detected as stuck or continuously pressed.
Basic checks first: jump to safe DIY steps Equipment type: washing machine
How it shows: Washer display shows bE2 (also shown as E2, 6E2, BE2 or 8E2 on some models)
Likely causes
- A control panel button stuck or held in
- A damaged button
- On some models BE2 (8E2) is a MEMS sensor error instead, not a jammed button
How to fix bE2: safe DIY steps
- Power off the washer
- Touch every button on the panel one at a time, working each one back and forth to reach all its edges before releasing it
- Power the washer back on and check whether the code has cleared
- If your display shows BE2 or 8E2, check your user manual: on some models that is a MEMS sensor error. Samsung's basic steps for it are to power off for 2 to 3 minutes, power back on and restart the cycle
Safety firstUnplug the washer (or switch off its breaker) and close the water taps before you reach behind it, handle hoses or open a filter. Water left from a recent hot cycle can be very hot, so let it cool first. Never bypass the door lock. Motor, pump, valve, sensor and control-board repairs belong to a qualified appliance technician.
Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.
