What it is
A clogged filter is the first cause Bosch lists for E22 (blocked filter) and E24 (drain filter blocked); LG lists residue clogging the filter for OE, and Samsung lists a dirty fine filter for 1E on Waterwall models.
How to choose
- Bosch says to wash the filter under running water with mild soap and a soft brush, so a soft brush that will not scratch the mesh is the right tool.
- Only buy a replacement filter if yours is damaged; match the part number from your manual.
How it is tested
- LG says to clean the filter every one to two weeks. Bosch (E25): remove the filter completely to reveal the pump cover and check that the cover is not loose.
How to use it
- Switch the dishwasher off at its breaker. Remove the lower rack, take out the filter as your manual shows (LG: turn the handle counter-clockwise and pull up), wash the parts and refit them completely.
- Samsung says to take care with sharp debris.
Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.
