Line voltage polarity is reversed, or, on twinned furnaces, the transformers are out of phase. The status table states the polarity fault. The rapid-flashing section is the twinning case.
Rapid flashing on this Bryant chart is the amber LED blinking with no pause. The status table calls it reversed 115 V polarity. The rapid-flashing section adds a second case: transformers out of phase when two furnaces are twinned. A counted code, short flashes then long flashes, is not this pattern. Continuous on means the control has 24 V. Continuous off means check 115 V at L1 and L2 and 24 V at SEC-1 and SEC-2.
Likely causes
- 115 V line polarity reversed
- On twinned furnaces, the transformers are out of phase
Safe checks for rapid flashing
- Confirm the LED is flashing rapidly with no pause. A pause between groups of short and long flashes is a numbered code, not this one
- Techniciancorrect line polarity. On a twinned pair, the same section checks breaker legs and the 115 V leads, then reversing the transformer secondary leads SEC-1 and SEC-2 on the main furnace
Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.
When to call a pro
Call a licensed HVAC technician. Do not swap line wires in the furnace to experiment.
