What does Goodman 05 mean?
Open circuit. The compressor and outdoor fan have been off for more than 4 hours, and both pressure switches are closed.

How it shows: PCBHR104 unitary diagnostic display in Goodman service manual RS6200007 r27. Digit 3 is blank. Digit 2 is 0 and digit 1 is 5. The code is 05
Likely causes
- Power is disconnected
- Failed compressor protector
- Compressor not wired to the control the way the chart requires
Safe checks for 05
- Check the circuit breakers and fuses. That is the first action on the 05 row. If a breaker trips again as soon as the unit starts, leave it off
- Techniciancheck wiring to the unit, the compressor, and the compressor wiring. The chart says the fault clears after 1 normal cycle, or by cycling 24 VAC to the control
Safety firstOutdoor units carry line voltage even when the thermostat is off. Switch off the unit's disconnect and breaker before touching anything. Refrigerant, wiring, compressor and control-board work must be done by a licensed HVAC technician.
