How it shows: Washer display shows CE

Likely causes

  • Short circuit
  • Loose connection
  • Ground fault
  • Power surge

How to fix CE: safe DIY steps

  1. Unplug the washer for 10 seconds
  2. Plug it back in and try to run a cycle
Safety firstUnplug the washer (or switch off its breaker) and close the water taps before you reach behind it, handle hoses or open a filter. Water left from a recent hot cycle can be very hot, so let it cool first. Never bypass the door lock. Motor, pump, valve, sensor and control-board repairs belong to a qualified appliance technician.

Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.
