1st stage gas valve was not energized when it should be, and that fault was exceeded after 10 times.
American Standard S9V2 E2.3 means the 1st stage gas valve was not energized when the control expected it, and that happened until the count passed 10. It is not E7.1, which is the same valve energized when it should be off. Do not jumper the valve. The heating sequence closes the valve relay only after ignitor warm-up.
Likely causes
- 1st stage gas valve not energized on a call when the control expected it
Safe checks for E2.3
- Do not jumper the gas valve to force heat
- Technicianthe sequence says the 1st stage gas valve relay closes after ignitor warm-up. E2.3 is that valve not being energized
Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.
When to call a pro
Call a licensed HVAC technician. E2.3 is the gas-valve circuit, not a filter code.
