High stage pressure switch circuit is closed at the start of the heating cycle.
Amana EE8 means the high-stage pressure switch is closed at the start of the cycle. High stage will not run. Low stage can. The induced draft blower is on. The chart says the contacts may be sticking or the switch wiring is shorted. EE9 is the high-stage switch that will not close. EE2 is the low-stage switch that will not close, and that one stops heat.
Likely causes
- High stage pressure switch contacts sticking
- Short in the pressure switch circuit wiring
Safe checks for EE8
- Low stage heat may still run. EE8 is not the open high-stage switch (EE9)
- Techniciandiagnose the high stage pressure switch and repair a short in the wiring
Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.
