Likely causes

  • Inverter P.C. board cannot read its memory
  • Outdoor electronic control P.C. board cannot read its memory

Safe checks for 7 blinks

  1. Switch off the outdoor disconnect and the breaker and leave the cabinet closed
  2. The manual's remedy is to replace the inverter board or the outdoor control board
Safety firstIndoor and outdoor mini-split units carry line voltage even when the remote is off. Switch off the outdoor disconnect and the breaker before you touch the unit, and do not open either cabinet. Refrigerant, wiring and control-board work must be done by a licensed HVAC technician.

Capacitors can hold a charge after the power is off. Safety terms.

When to call a pro

Seven blinks are a board fault, not a filter fault. Call a licensed HVAC technician.
