Status codeE2.2Trane
What it means
Recycles exceeded: flame sensed then lost 10 times (or PS1 open 10 times) in one call for heat. One-hour lockout.
Call a profurnace
How it shows: 7-segment display alternates with mode: E2.2
§1Likely causes
- Dirty flame sensor, dirty burners, poor grounding, sensor location or wire connections
- Low or unstable gas manifold pressure
- Blower door not secured
- Wind gusts
- Condensate problem
- Power interruption
§2Safe DIY steps
- Make sure the blower door is properly installed
- Technicianmeasure flame current and manifold pressure during 1st and 2nd stage
- Techniciancorrect incoming gas supply pressure if needed
Safety firstIf you smell gas, do not touch any electrical switch or use a phone in the building; leave immediately and call your gas supplier from outside. Turn off electrical power at the furnace switch or breaker before opening any panel, and never bypass or jumper a limit, rollout or pressure switch. Gas valve, burner, venting, wiring and control-board work should be done by a licensed HVAC technician.
§3When to call a pro
Call a licensed HVAC technician: if the lockout repeats.
